Items
Items can be found throughout the whole world. They can be taken form enemies both weak and powerful, received as quests rewards or crafted by living skills. They range in quality and power from simple non-magic loots that is meant to be sold to NPC, to impressive green items that are of great value. Your character will acquire them in his/her adventuring.
Where can I normally find magic items?
Magic items, namely green and blue item, can be obtained by a variety of ways. Elite bosses, reputation rewards, crafting products and quests rewards are the main avenues of obtaining. Additionally, trading with other players is also a good way to get magic items.
Are items found from certain sources, such as bosses, generally better than those from other sources, such as crafted items?
Not necessarily, while it is true that the most precious items are obtained from the most difficult bosses, this should be considered as the very prize of conquering the difficulty of a boss, not as a general rule that bosses drop all the best items. In truth, high reputation ranks offer very impressive rewards, which are the matches for the boss loots. And with rare raw materials, crafting skills also produced heavily-enchanted gears. The bottom line is there is no one way to obtain the most powerful magic items; player characters of different playstyles can always find a suitable way to get them.
Are there class restrictions o items?
Yes. Not every class can use a given gear. Each class has a restriction as to what equipment can be used. This can be viewed in equipment sheet.
Is there durability, and can items be destroyed from durability loss?
Items of all types have durability that is indicated on the item’s tooltip. When an item’s durability fails to zero, it conveys no benefit to its bearer. And an item’s durability can be degraded form combating mobs. Durability can be restored at the NPCs, including Blacksmith and Tailor.
What items can I create in Phoenix Dynasty Online?
With the crafting professions of Weaponsmithing, Jewelcrafting, Alchemy, Smelting, and Leatheworking, players can create items of temporary and permanent value. The permanent ones are crafted items of all types, including weapon, armor, boots, rings, and necklaces. And as character players obtain increasingly more experience for crafting skills, their crafted items become more impressive. At the same time, character players can also create consumable items that convey temporary benefit. These consumable items are products of Alchemy and Smiting. By mining ore veins scattered across the world, character players can smelt ores into various minerals to improve their gears’ attribute. Potions produced by Alchemy help heal wound or restore magic, and a few advanced potions have special effects, such as quickening HP and MP recovery speed, doubling experience rate and dealing more damage.
What do the colors of an item name's text mean?
Every item is attributed a color to represent its quality. The types come in three categories, white, blue and green. A white item represents a common quality item; it is cheap in value and can be safely sold to NPC. Items of uncommon quality are marked by blue. They may include potions, ores, herbs, materials and gears, which can be obtained through usage of living skills, killing mobs or completing a quest. A green item represents a perfect quality item. Perfect quality items are far more difficult to obtain than common and uncommon quality items. Normally, killing high-level bosses, completing epic quests and crafting are the main avenues to get green items.
