What are the categories of character skills in Phoenix Dynasty Online?
Character skills are grouped into three categories: class common skills, living skills, and element skills. Your character skills can be viewed on the skills tab of you character sheet. Class common skills are determined by your character class and are bought at the Skill Trainer, as your character achieve certain levels. A character can learn living skills, such as mining and crafting at Blacksmithing, Tailor, Craftsman, and Alchemist. Element skills include major element skills and minor element skills. Element skills are obtained through learning element skill tomes, and you must acquire your element attribute before leaning any element skill.
How do you improve your skills?
Class common skills can be upgraded at Skill Trainer through paying a handful of gold, as your character achieves certain levels. And basically, living skills are upgraded through usage. Thus, in order to upgrade your living skills, you need to use living skills as often as possible, in the process of which the proficiency of your living skills increase to upgrade. As for element skills, you can only upgrade them through learning element skill tomes corresponding to your element skills. You can find element skills tomes in mob loots or through trading with other player characters.
What kinds of items can players create using living skills?
Player characters can create a wide variety of items from resources gathered around the world----all using living skills. You can create powerful weapon and armor with the crafting skill, efficacious potions with the grinding skill, and much more. Some living skills require raw materials to operate. The raw materials, such as ore veins and herbs are scattered around the world; some precious raw materials are rare, hard to get, which you may obtain after defeating a boss or through trading with other players. The finished products of these raw materials are among the rank of the best items known in the game.
Can you unlearn a skill?
You can unlearn a living skill. To do so, speak with the NPC from whom you learn the skill, and select the appropriate option. Major element skills and class common skills cannot be unlearned while you can unlearn minor element skills.
